The Award of Financial Excellence and Reporting in Community Achievement allows the various governmental agencies, the public, grantors, foundations and other interested parties a welcome opportunity to recognize those community action agencies that have, in fact, succeeded preparing a high quality comprehensive annual financial report and disclosures of pertinent facts and data (statistical and other deliverables) pertinent to the mission and purpose of the grants and contracts awarded. To promote fiscal responsibility and program achievements by establishing a comprehensive evaluation system that allows for a complete analysis of excellence in fiscal and programmatic tracking and reporting. The recognition can be viewed as a positive factor by credit rating agencies, funding sources, others interested in the professionalism and uniqueness of the community action industry and the comprehensiveness of the services provided. |

There are some 1,050 Community Action Agencies (CAA’s) nationwide with funding and expenditures totaling in the billions of dollars with millions of citizens (adults and children) served and cared for.However, the accuracy and reliability of the financial statements and program statistics are not attested to or confirmed with consistency. |
Starting with the state of Georgia, all CAA’s and others related will be given an opportunity to join the program.A committee of experts will be gathered to establish a comprehensive criteria program checklists of items that must be included in the model comprehensive annual financial report.
